We collect information directly when users register, create profiles, upload work, place orders, communicate, contact support or use platform features.
Additional information is generated when the platform processes transactions, records account activity, checks security or delivers purchased content.
We may also receive relevant information from service providers, including authentication, hosting and payment providers.

5. Legal bases for processing
Where applicable privacy law requires a legal basis for processing personal information, KaivosFocus relies on the basis appropriate to the activity.
These may include performing a contract with a user, complying with legal obligations, pursuing legitimate interests such as security and fraud prevention, or obtaining consent where required.
Legitimate interests are relied upon only where permitted and subject to applicable balancing requirements and individual rights.
Where processing depends on consent, users may withdraw that consent as permitted by law. Withdrawal does not automatically invalidate processing carried out lawfully beforehand.
6. Public profiles and published content
Information deliberately published on public creator profiles, portfolios, Marketplace listings, showcase pages and other public areas may be visible to other users and website visitors.
Public information may also be indexed or cached by search engines and other third-party services.
Users should avoid publishing personal information that they do not want made publicly available.
Removing a public listing does not necessarily remove information already copied or cached by independent third parties.
7. Service providers
KaivosFocus uses third-party technology providers to operate the website and its services. Depending on the feature, these include:
- Clerk, for account authentication and related identity functionality.
- Stripe and Stripe Connect, for payments, refunds, seller onboarding and payouts.
- Cloudflare R2, for storage and delivery of uploaded media and related files.
- Vercel, for website hosting and application infrastructure.
- Database infrastructure providers, for storing platform accounts, orders, listings and operational records.
- Google services, including Gmail, for receiving and managing support and business correspondence.
Service providers may process information according to their contractual responsibilities, applicable privacy notices and legal obligations.
Payment providers may independently collect information needed for payment processing, identity verification, fraud controls and regulatory compliance.
8. Payments and financial information
KaivosFocus uses payment-service providers, including Stripe, to support eligible purchases and seller payouts.
Payment providers handle payment credentials and may independently collect information needed to process transactions, prevent fraud, verify sellers and comply with law.
KaivosFocus may retain payment identifiers, order details, currencies, amounts, transaction status and refund records needed to operate and account for transactions.
Information collected directly by Stripe is also subject to Stripe's applicable privacy notices.
9. Cookies and similar technologies
KaivosFocus and its service providers may use cookies and similar technologies for authentication, account sessions, website security, preferences and other functionality.
Some technologies are necessary for requested services, such as maintaining a signed-in session or supporting checkout.
Non-essential technologies, including certain advertising and analytics technologies, may require additional notice, consent or privacy choices under applicable law.
KaivosFocus must obtain any legally required consent before setting or accessing non-essential cookies or similar technologies. Merely continuing to browse does not constitute valid consent in jurisdictions requiring an affirmative choice.
Browser settings may allow users to manage certain cookies, although disabling necessary technologies can affect website functionality.
10. Google AdSense and advertising
KaivosFocus may introduce advertisements through Google AdSense or other advertising providers.
If advertising is enabled, advertising partners may process information such as device identifiers, IP addresses, cookie information and advertising interactions, subject to applicable law and user choices.
Depending on the advertising configuration and consent choices, advertisements may be personalised or non-personalised.
Advertising technologies requiring consent will not be authorised merely by a user's acceptance of these general website terms. Applicable consent and opt-out requirements must be met before relevant advertising processing is enabled.
For information about Google's advertising privacy practices, visit Google's advertising information.
11. When we share information
Personal information may be disclosed where reasonably necessary to provide requested services, fulfil transactions, communicate between relevant parties or operate the platform.
For example, limited profile information may be visible to other users, and transaction-related information may be shared with payment providers and relevant sellers where necessary.
Information may also be disclosed to service providers, professional advisers, regulators or authorities where permitted or required by applicable law.
KaivosFocus does not offer users' private account information as a standalone customer list for sale.
Certain advertising disclosures may nevertheless qualify as a sale or sharing of personal information under particular privacy laws. Where those laws apply, the required notices and privacy choices must be provided.
12. International processing and transfers
KaivosFocus operates from Australia and is intended for an international audience. Personal information may be processed or accessed in countries outside a user's country of residence.
Overseas processing may occur through hosting, authentication, payment, storage and communications providers.
International disclosures and transfers remain subject to applicable legal requirements, which may include appropriate contractual safeguards, adequacy arrangements, risk assessments or other lawful mechanisms.
The actual countries and safeguards depend on the provider and production configuration. Users may request further information about relevant overseas handling using the privacy contact details in this policy.
13. Information security
KaivosFocus uses technical and organisational measures intended to protect personal information against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure or loss.
Security measures may include authenticated access, restricted storage permissions, access controls, secure communications and monitoring of relevant security events.
No online platform can guarantee absolute security.
Users should protect account credentials and contact us promptly if they suspect unauthorised account activity.
14. Data retention
Personal information is retained only for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes for which it was collected, subject to applicable law.
Retention depends on the category of information. Account and profile information may be needed while an account remains active. Transaction and financial records may need to be retained longer for taxation, accounting, disputes or legal obligations.
Security logs, support communications, moderation records, legal claims and backups may also have different retention requirements.
When information is no longer needed, KaivosFocus will delete, anonymise or otherwise handle it in accordance with applicable law and technical requirements.
A request to delete an account does not necessarily require immediate deletion of records that must lawfully be retained.

- Request correction of inaccurate information.
- Request deletion in qualifying circumstances.
- Request restriction of certain processing.

Where the EU GDPR or UK GDPR applies, users may have additional rights and protections, including rights relating to transparency, lawful processing, access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability.
Certain users may also have rights concerning automated decision-making and complaints to competent data-protection authorities.
Processing for these users must have an appropriate legal basis. International transfers and non-essential tracking must comply with the relevant legal requirements.
KaivosFocus is based in Australia. Additional obligations concerning representatives and international transfers may apply when services are offered in these markets.
17. United States and Canada
Privacy rights in the United States may depend on federal and state law. Where applicable, these may include access, correction, deletion, portability and rights to opt out of certain advertising-related sharing or sales.
KaivosFocus will respect applicable state privacy rights and required request procedures where those laws apply to its activities.
Canadian users retain applicable federal and provincial privacy protections, including access and correction rights where provided by the relevant legislation.

19. Children and sensitive information
KaivosFocus is primarily intended for people using creative, professional and marketplace services.
We do not require users to publish sensitive personal information as part of an ordinary public profile. Users should avoid submitting unnecessary sensitive information.
Age restrictions and any required parent or guardian permissions must follow the laws applicable to the relevant service and user.
If you believe personal information concerning a child has been handled inappropriately, contact us so the issue can be reviewed.
